91 candles.
my grammie’s birthday would be today. she would be 91. but she’s not here anymore. she went to fly with the angels in june. if she were here, we would throw her a party this weekend. we would give her the corner piece of cake, with the rose, the most icing, but she would say she can’t eat it all… when she can. we would take pictures and i would stand beside her and be a foot taller, but i would feel safe and happy. if she were here she would sit and watch the little ones play. if she were here she would get mad that we bought her presents. if she were here i would call her and tell her everything and listen to everything she said…really listen..to her voice and try and remember her face. if she were here i would give her one last hug and tell her thank you, thank you for letting me play with her pearls and wear her high heels when i was little…and always being there for me. if she were here i would tell her i miss her more than she knows. i would tell her i think of her every day, and i would tell her i want to make her proud. i would tell her i’m sorry for not being there, and most of all i would tell her i love her.
